  1. Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

The Neurology Department aims to ensure that all faculty, trainees, and staff achieve the following outcomes

  2. Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neuropathology, and clinical neurology
  3. Apply evidence-based guidelines in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neurological disorders.
  4. Integrate advances in neuroscience and technology into clinical practice.

  6. Perform accurate neurological examinations and interpret neurodiagnostic tests (EEG, EMG, neuroimaging)
  7. Provide competent management of common and complex neurological disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  8. Conduct clinical research and critically appraise scientific literature.
  9. Effectively teach and mentor medical students, residents, and allied health professionals.

  1. Strategic Plan (5-Year)

Goal 1: Enhance Patient Care Services

Objective 1.1: Establish advanced neurodiagnostic facilities (EEG lab, EMG lab, sleep lab, neurorehabilitation unit).

Objective 1.2: Develop subspecialty clinics (epilepsy, movement disorders, stroke, neuromuscular disorders).

KPIs: 50% increase in patient satisfaction scores within 3 years; fully functional subspecialty clinics by year 5.

Goal 2: Strengthen Academic and Training Programs

Objective 2.1: Update and standardize postgraduate neurology residency curriculum according to international standards.

 

Objective 2.2: Organize regular CME, workshops, and simulation-based training for faculty and trainees.

 

KPIs: 90% pass rate in national/international board exams; minimum 4 academic workshops annually

Goal 3: Promote Research and Innovation

Objective 3.1: Establish a clinical neuroscience research unit with dedicated staff.

Objective 3.2: Secure national/international research grants.

KPIs: At least 10 peer-reviewed publications/year; 2 successful grants by year 5

Goal 4: Community Engagement and Public Awareness

Objective 4.1: Conduct annual community-based awareness campaigns (stroke prevention, epilepsy awareness, dementia care).

Objective 4.2: Collaborate with NGOs and health authorities for outreach programs.

KPIs: 30% increase in community participation; partnerships with at least 3 external organizations.Goal 5: Institutional Development and Sustainability

Objective 5.1: Recruit and retain highly qualified faculty and support staff.

Objective 5.2: Implement continuous quality improvement programs.

KPIs: Faculty retention rate >85%; successful departmental accreditation within 5 years.
